Dismantling, decommissioning & scrapping

Decommissioning a machine or an entire production technology is often the start of the next change in production: an upgrade, a relocation, a rebuild of the hall or the freeing up of space for new equipment. For that process not to create new risks, it needs a clear technical procedure – from safe shutdown through dismantling to handling, removal and further processing of the material.

Dismantling without chaos in the plant

Old equipment may be tied into the surrounding technology, into building structures or into shared utilities. It is therefore not wise to treat decommissioning as a quick strip-down. Before the work starts, it is necessary to identify those links, the access routes, the handling method and which parts are to be kept, moved or handed over for further processing.

LETKEN prepares the work according to the specific conditions of the site. On larger projects, the work can be split into stages so that production in neighbouring zones is not blocked and so that the space is freed up in time for the customer’s next project.
